Description
The Atlas moth is one of the largest lepidopterans in the world with a wingspan of up to 9.4 inches. It starts out as a green and white caterpillar with soft spikes all over it's back. Strangely, they do not have a mouth, but live off of the energy stored as a caterpillar. Once they emerge from their cocoon their main function is to find a mate and reproduce. Their life span is 5-7 days.
