Description
The Snowy Owl, known for its beauty, grace, and predatory instinct, is the largest owl in North America. They can be as large as 20"- 28" in length, have a wingspan from 54"- 66", and weigh in at 3.25 - 6.5 lbs.
Snowys range from all white to black and white with patterns of prominent, dark bars. Although both males and females have white faces, males are typically mostly white, and females usually have more dark markings than males. Males are typically smaller than females.
