The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back.   The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

This is truly an exceptional plant. I love how it balloons out in the center, much like a balloon flower, and the buds are large like peony buds. Old Man Wind seems to be gently blowing and causing the flower to bow it's beautiful head.
