Description
A moody image of The Great Stone Dam in Lawrence, Massachusetts as viewed from the O'Leary Bridge on the South Lawrence side towards North Lawrence. Erected between 1845-1848 by the founders of the Essex Company. It was the largest man-made structure of its time at 900 long x 35 thick x 30 high. It's still quite impressive to this day!

Great image Betty, moody indeed. It's amazing what our ancestors could accomplish without modern day equipment.
Betty Denise replied:
Thank you Steve! A little extra love went into this photo as it was taken for one of my brothers to remind him of home.
